‘We take player protection extremely seriously’ – Chief Legal Officer at Greentube

Greentube, a Malta-based online and mobile company, s the continuation of efforts that help prevent negative effects of the industry on peoples’ lives by donating to BetBlocker, a free tool that can be ed to help monitor online gambling.

Trevor De Giorgio, Chief Legal Officer at Greentube told MaltaCEOS that “we take player protection extremely seriously at Greentube and constantly work to ensure that we contribute to advance this crucial area of our industry”.

When describing the charity ed in Scotland, Mr De Giorgio described BetBlocker as “a fantastic tool that helps players control their gambling and we are very impressed with how the product has been enhanced over the years to offer even stronger protection”.

BetBlocker is a charity founded in Scotland, established by a board of trustees made up of various team from the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service, a UK agency that manages complaints between players and online gambling regulators.

BetBlocker launched in 2017 and after two years of exponential growth was established as a charity in 2019, being fully funded by donations from businesses in the gambling industry, such as Greentube, with 2021 being their second consecutive year as donors.

“The industry donations we receive are crucial as it helps us further improve the tool and makes it even easier for players to control or restrict their gambling activities. We have a number of projects in the pipeline and Greentube’s donation will help us take BetBlocker to the next level”, said Manager at BetBlocker, Duncan Garvie.

BetBlocker is software available on a variety of operating systems that automatically restricts a ’s device from accessing any of the gambling operator URLs in their database.
