Jan-willen Regeer has started the new year on a high, being promoted to Casino Games Manager at LeoVegas Group.

The appointment is a pinnacle of an impressive rise through the ranks at LeoVegas, which he ed as a games tester in 2018, before being promoted to casino games specialist in 2021.

LeoVegas is a prominent B2C operator, and has its base in Malta. In the most recent period for which data is available (q3 2021), casino verticals ed for 76 per cent of the group’s Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), compared to just 10 per cent for sportsbooks.

The self-crowned ‘King of Casino’ had an exciting 2021, with president and CEO Gustaf Hagman identifying a “fairly positive view” on the outlook of ht company in a statement in November.

He stated that while developments in the market, including regulatory changes in a number of markets, have created a current situation that is “somewhat turbulent and difficult to navigate,” in the wide iGaming industry, conditions are gradually clearing and he is optimistic.

He credited this with the fact that regulated markets foster a more sustainable environment, while the long-term growth potential in the online segment of the industry is “enormous.”

Considering this, Mr Hagman explained that the new regulatory environment favours “established and well-invested operators like LeoVegas with competitive products, well-known brands and focus on responsible gambling.”
