Johan Svensson takes over as Raketech Acting CEO following Oskar Mühlbach’s departure

Raketech CEO Oskar Mühlbach will step down in mutual agreement with the company’s Board of Directors, citing “different views on the strategic considerations” on the future of the iGaming firm.

Taking his place for the time being is Johan Svensson, a co-founder of the company who previously served as CEO until 2017, and now holds the position of CCO.

Raketech board chairman Ulrik Bengtsson hailed the outgoing CEO, saying that “during his four years as CEO, Oskar Mühlbach has led the company through a strategic transformation and a growth journey.”

Mr Mühlbach had been CEO since December 2019, following a stint as COO.

“The board would like to take the opportunity to thank Oskar Mühlbach as he has played an important role in the company’s success over the past four years. Thanks to his leadership, the company has a strong foundation to build upon moving forward,” said Mr Bengtsson.

He continued: “The board is confident in appointing the co-founder and former board member Johan Svensson to lead the company until a new permanent CEO is in place.”

The move is the latest in a series of personnel changes at the top for the Malta-based Raketech, which has its headquarters in Gżira.

Dalia Turner, formerly of Feedzai and Microsoft, ed as Chief People Officer last month, wihile the Board of Directors was strengthened with the addition of Marina Andersson and Patrick Jonker, bringing corporate development and international casino experience.

Raketech has been enjoying a period of strong growth, posting record revenue in three consecutive quarters.

EBITDA surged 16.5 per cent year-on-year, with the company attributing this growth to the development of its Casumba brand in Japan and growth within its network offering in the Nordic countries and elsewhere.
