ICE London

The organisers behind one of the largest gaming trade shows globally, Clarion Gaming, are persisting with plans for their February event in London, despite a dramatic resurgence of COVID in the region, according to a report in Gambling Insider.

The publication understands that on Friday, Clarion Gaming is holding a press briefing to reassure industry stakeholders that ICE London is still scheduled to go ahead on the initially proposed dates of 1st to 3rd February 2022.

Additionally, it was informed by Clarion Gaming Group managing director Alex Pratt that while the company is closely monitoring the situation, and is prepared to respond if needs be, the event is currently slated to go ahead.

It comes as the Omicron variant and a resurgent Delta variant have seen COVID cases explode in the UK – with the country on Wednesday recorded its highest ever number of new cases in any single day.

Chief medical officer, Chris Whitty, has urged Brits to be discriminate when choosing whether to mix with other people or attend events.

However, Clarion and many intended attendees will be hoping that nothing derails plans for the event, after its 2021 iteration was postponed twice, then cancelled.

Assuming the event does go ahead, attendees can expect a comprehensive of what’s new in international gaming with confirmation that 73 debut exhibitors from 37 jurisdictions will be ‘stepping into the future’ for the first time.
