Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has fined Curaçao-based operator Raging Rhino €440,000 for illegally offering online gambling in the Netherlands before new regulation becomes effective.

Dutch gamers were able to access and deposit money onto Raging Rhino’s gambling website LuckyDays.com. The website was written with s from the Netherlands in mind, offering customers the option of using the Dutch payment processing solution iDeal, along with help services in Dutch.

224,630 transactions which amounted to revenues suring €18 million were processed through iDeal between 1st May and 31st July 2020.

Since issuing the fines, LuckyDays.com has been blocked in the Netherlands and the fine has been paid by Raging Rhino.

This is the second action KSA has taken today, with homes being raided in Velsen, a city in the north of the Netherlands and in Spain as part of an investigation into illegal gambling.

As reported previously by iGC, the Netherlands will open for business in October as new legislation allows online gambling in the Netherlands for the first time.
